Dr. Bill Curtis (1948) is an American software and organizational scientist. He is best known for leading the development of the Capability Maturity Model [1] (CMM for Software) and the People CMM [2] in the Software Engineering Institute at Carnegie Mellon University. He co-founded TeraQuest, a provider of CMM-based services, which was sold to Borland Software Corporation in 2005. He has published 5 books, over 150 articles, and in 2007 was elected a Fellow of the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers for his career contributions to software process improvement and measurement.

Led global engineering and cyber security in process automation, and ABB’s Corporate Research in Bangalore.

Ram is currently VP and Managing Site Director R&D at VMware India. Prior to joining VMware, he served in global leadership positions at eBay, Yahoo! and Microsoft. He started his career in the auto industry in US developing software solutions for design and packaging of automotive suspension and powertrain systems. Ramkumar Narayanan holds a B.E. in Mechanical Engineering from Anna University, Chennai, M.S. in Mechanical Engineering & MBA from University of Michigan, Ann Arbor.

Prior to that, Marc was a software engineer, a project manager and then a business unit manager at several major European systems integrators. Marc earned a degree in Engineering from the École Nationale Supérieure de Paris, and an MBA at INSEAD.
